Now, the state is waiting for the government’s response to the case.
India is in third place in the manufacture of medicines in the world. It depends on China for raw material / base salts for certain drugs, varying from 80 to 100 percent in certain cases.
Because of it coronavirus pandemic, global supply chains have been disconnected. Even the risk of importing such material has increased due to the pandemic.
NITI Aayog, Ministry of health and other affected departments thus decided to make the country self-help in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, which in turn will be an edition of the central bank’s initiative ‘Make in India’.
The Union Cabinet recently set up four such parks across the country.
In his letter, the Chief Minister made a case for Noida and Lucknow about setting up the proposed parks. I have pointed out that four drug research laboratories were already located in Lucknow, while many medicines and medical devices were already manufactured in the state capital.
On the other hand, Noida is considered among the most developed industrial areas in the country. It will further receive a boost when the upcoming Jewar airport is completed, which will make exporting easy.
“Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to make India a billion trillion dollars in the next five years, the state wants to become a $ 1 billion economy. Therefore, Uttar Pradesh should be awarded four bulk drugs or medical equipment parks,” Yogi Adityanath said in his letter.
MSME General Secretary Dr. Navneet Sehgal said: “The Center is considering pharma hub suggestions. A detailed project report is prepared. Uttar Pradesh is preparing a detailed report. We start work as soon as we get the green signal from the center. “
It is pertinent to mention here that the states where these parks are to be set up are justified by many relaxations / incentives from the Union government. The center builds solvent recovery plants, common wastewater treatment plants and drug testing laboratories in such parks.
