Smooth, creamy, foamy, these are just a few of the descriptions that run through our heads as we indulge in the all-too-popular, frozen confection: the chocolate milk shake. It seems that the advent of chocolate milkshakes came at the same time that pharmacies from old began to sell soda fountain drinks consisting of an eye of ice cream with the tempting taste added.
It was inevitable, I suppose, when chocolate syrup was once poured over ice cream in a bowl, that it would one day wind up in a glass. For the last 40 years, millions of people have had a frosty chocolate milk shake as part of a traditional fast food meal with hamburgers and french fries. Of course, it is just as delicious by itself, but the fast food restaurants have captured our absolute love for the chocolate shack.
