5 ideas for healthy snacks for kids


Kids love to snack, and they usually hit their noses when it comes to healthy snacks. Once they have filled their stomachs with the fat, salt chips or chocolate, you are lucky if they eat a nutritious meal. Grazing on unhealthy snacks is a habit that can be broken, but the kids actually need some help with that. They should be presented with healthy children’s snacks as an alternative to crunch on foods that have no nutritional value or are detrimental to their health.

Some children are mature enough to be taught to eat healthy, and they adapt quickly if they actually want to take their health into their own hands. Most kids, however, don’t really care about health, especially when it comes to snacks. Here are some ideas for presenting nutritional snacks for your children:

Keep fresh fruit at your fingertips and easily accessible.

Most children cannot resist a bowl full of fresh fruit. Give a variety of fruits, some of which have never tasted. A variety of fruits even appeal to the most beautiful eats. Take the kids on a shopping trip to pick fruit that looks interesting to them. For special treats, you can help kids make chocolate-dipped fruits or banana popsicles.

Kids love milkshakes.

Smoothies are a great alternative to milkshakes and are actually healthy snacks that kids love. You can use yogurt, fresh fruit and milky fat and whip a smoothie in the blender in seconds. Many children like to make their own smoothies, so getting involved can be a good idea.

Help your children plant a garden full of vegetables.

Believe it or not, children are more likely to eat vegetables if they grow them themselves. Gardening is an excellent adventure and a great way to spend quality time with your children. At harvest time, prepare a snack tray with vegetables and low fat. You can even try preparing celery with peanut butter as a snack.

Replace chips with a healthy snack mix.

Grain-based cereals and granola grains and whole-wheat grains are much healthier than other snacks that are a choice of children. Mixing these grains with nuts, raisins or other dried fruit can make a healthy snack for children to taste.

Juice it.

If your kids refuse to eat fruits and vegetables for snacks, you can always give it as juice to make sure your kids get the nutrition they desperately need. You can run fresh fruits and vegetables through a juice press and come up with a homemade juice that will definitely get your attention. You can even try making a gossip out of the juice by running it through a blender full of ice. You can also make popsicles out of freshly made fruit and vegetable juices.

Tempting a kid with healthy snacks can be a challenge if they are attuned to sipping on junk food. You are better off starting from the beginning and developing good eating habits when they are young, but it is never too late to teach children how to eat healthy.
