3 healthy autumn-inspired snacks that are great for kids

Fall is one of many favorites for many reasons. Not only is the weather good and the view of nature magnificent, but it is a season for good food and drink too! Spoil your little ones with delicious treats that are best enjoyed this season – make these healthy autumn-inspired snacks that they will absolutely love!

Pumpkin spice granola

What you need:

  • 1 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries

  • 1/4 cup uncooked quinoa, rinse well

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed

  • 1/4 cup nuggets

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree

  • 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice

  • 1 teaspoon canola or coconut oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • Nips of kosher salt

Spread the rolled oats and quinoa in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven (325F) with stirring once, until toasted, approx. 10 minutes. Put the toasted mixture in a bowl and add the cranberries, pecans, flax seeds and pepitas.

In a separate bowl, stir the pumpkin puree, honey, pumpkin spice, oil, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt. Pour oats over, and spread the mixture on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes in the oven (300F) or until golden.

Crispy Cinnamon Apple Chips

What you need:

  • Apples, cored and sliced

  • cinnamon Powder

Sprinkle the apple slices lightly with cinnamon powder and place the slices in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven (set to the lowest setting so the door is easily open for lower heat inside) until dry and tasty, but not hard and crispy.

Serve with a cold glass of milk and some pumpkin spice cookies!

What you need:

  • 2 cups apple sauce

  • 2 cinnamon teaspoons

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

  • coconut oil

Combine the apple sauce with cinnamon and nutmeg. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lightly brush the parchment paper with coconut oil. Pour the apple sauce mixture into the tray, pour it to spread the mixture evenly on the tray (ideally about 1/4 inch thick).

Bake in the oven in the lowest setting until the mixture is no longer sticky, yet flexible. Let it cool completely and cut into strips or fun forms of extra joy.
