3 Campfire Pie Recipes for Your Next Outdoor Trip


Everyone loves feet. Whether sweet or tasty, they are considered a rich comfort food by many. They are great for any occasion and can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors. If you plan to make one over your campfire in the camp, go for easy-to-make but delicious recipes.

These 3 bonfire recipes are a must try for your next camping adventure!

Mini bonfire cherry pies

What you need:

  • 1 pack of ready-made pie crust (2 pie corps per pack)

  • 1 small cherry pie filling

  • 1/4 cup white sugar

  • Vegetable oil

Roll out the crust and use a drinking glass, cut out circles (about 2-3 inches in width). Gather the remaining crust, roll out again and cut out more circles as many as desired. Place a circle on a plate, place one tablespoon with the filling of the cherry pie and top with another crust circle. Press the edges down together using the forks to seal the mini pie.

Repeat with the remaining ingredients. Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil on a cast iron pan over hot charcoal. When ready, cook 1-3 feet (depending on the size of your pot) at a time until each side is browned. Remove it from the heat and drain on paper towels. When all are cooked, bake the baking soda in white sugar before serving.

Apple and Raisin Pie

What you need:

  • 2 slices of white or wheat bread

  • 3 tablespoons apple pie filling

  • 1 tablespoon raisins

  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened

Spread the butter evenly on one side of each loaf of bread. Place a slice, butter side down, in an oiled toaster. Spread with apple pie filling, sprinkle with raisins and top with the other bread slice, butter side up.

Close the toaster and cook over a hot fire, turning occasionally, for 4-5 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown.

Yummy S’mores Pie

What you need:

  • 8 slices of cinnamon swirl bread

  • 4 graham cracker squares, broken into large pieces

  • 1 cup mini campfire marshmallows

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

In a greased pie iron, place a slice of cinnamon swirl bread and sprinkle with graham cracker pieces, marshmallows and chocolate chips (divide ingredients between 4 pies). Top with another cinnamon bread slice and close the cake iron.

Remove any excess bread coming out of the cookie iron. Cook over a fire for 1 minute per hour. Page. Place on a plate and serve.
